Dave Roth

​​Coaching Career:


Dave is Owner and Operator of Team PAC Baseball and PAC Training Systems. Dave founded PAC in 2011 and has built it into what it currently is today. His strength and conditioning background has allowed him to completely change the way we look at training athletes here at Team PAC. Along with his CSCS Dave is a Functional Patterns Human Foundations Practitioner. Functional Patterns has become a staple for Dave which has led PAC to a balanced and holistic approach to training. It is his goal to correct inefficient movement patterns and educate our athletes in order to enhance athletic development, ultimately leading them down a path toward a healthy lifestyle.


His partnerships with the Blacksox Baseball of New Jersey/Florida has created a multi-state progressive training program geared toward creating impact on high school players and taking them to the college and professional level.


Team PAC’s first ever MLB Draft pick was Ben Cowles, a Newark native who played his college ball at the University of Maryland. Ben was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 10th round of the 2021 MLB First Year Player Draft and started in the program when he was 13 years old.  


Along with running PAC, Dave is also an assistant coach at St. John Fisher University where he primarily works with infielders and hitters.  Starting out as a strength and conditioning coach, his roles in the program have continued to develop over the past 7 years. During his tenure there the Cardinals have gone 158-69 (.696). Dave has mentored Four All-Americans (Noah Campanelli, Adam Zebrowski, Justin Graham and Allen Murphy). Along with 22 All-Region and 27 All-Conference players. Dave was a huge impact on 2021 D3 Baseball National Player of the Year Adam Zebrowski who was then drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 13th Round. His final coaching accolade at Fisher includes coaching d3baseball.com All-Decade Team member Scotty Eisenmenger. 


Playing Career:


​​A graduate of Churchville-Chili High School, Dave was the MVP of the 2004 season.  His high school career transitioned into a four year college career at St. John Fisher in Rochester, NY, where he was voted First Team All Conference in 2008. Dave's playing career also included stops with the Big Bend Cowboys of the CBL for the 2009 season, and the Warner Robins Aviators of the Peach State League during the 2010 season.

Matt Toohey

Coaching Career:


Coach Toohey is currently Team PAC’s Director of Baseball Operations and Recruiting. Over his three years with Team PAC he has been able to revamp and overhaul our throwing programs to help further prepare our players for high school and college baseball.


One of the biggest attributes Toohey brought to Team PAC was his increased use of technology during the player development process. Since Toohey has been brought on staff the overall player development model has moved in a direction trying to mirror player development models seen at the professional level.


Toohey is the head coach of our Showcase Team as he uses his connections from recruiting and coaching at St. John Fisher University to help move our players onto the next level.

Along with coaching at Team PAC Toohey has been the Pitching Coach at St. John Fisher University since 2020. Under his leadership of the pitching staff the Cardinals are 69-27 (.719). he has mentored the 2021 D3baseball.com National POY and 13th Round MLB Draft Pick (Adam Zebrowski). Back to Back Empire 8 Conference Pitcher of the Year in 2021 & 2022 (RJ Kuruts & Connor McHugh). Over the last two seasons Coach has mentored 6 All-Region pitchers along with 7 All-Empire 8 pitchers. 


Playing Career:


A 2019 graduate of St. John Fisher College, during his playing career, the Cardinals went 128-55 (.700) and reached the postseason four times including back to back appearances in the NCAA Division III Baseball Championship. 


Toohey’s most successful year came in 2016 after winning the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship and advancing to the Division III World Series for the first time in team history.  Fisher made the most of its trip after finishing tied for fifth place in the nation with a program record 39 wins.


Coach Toohey is a 2015 graduate of Morris Hills High School in Rockaway, New Jersey. Toohey was a four year varsity starter and was team MVP and 1st-Team all NJAC his senior year. As a junior, Coach was named a Prospect-Wire All-American.

Tyler Smith

Michael Beimel

Graduate of St. Mary’s Area High School in Pennsylvania, Michael played four years of varsity baseball and was Defensive Player of the Year in 2015 and 2016, and in 2017 was named a Northern Allegheny All Star and Player of the Year in AAA. 

Michael went to St. John Fisher University as a catcher and played for five years. There, he won two conference championships along with two regional appearances. At SJF, Michael was named Second-Team All-Conference in 2019 and 2021, First-Team All-Conference in 2022, and Second-Team All-Region in 2022. 

Michael has been giving hitting and catching lessons in his hometown since High School at his family’s facility, Beimel Baseball. He is currently coaching at PAC where he works with catchers and hitters.

Erik Gauer

Played for and mentored by Coach Dave and Team PAC throughout High School.


Coach Erik then attended Niagara County Community College his Freshman Year before transferring and playing the rest of his College Career at Gordon College. 


Erik has been coaching at Team PAC since he was 16 working alongside Coach Dave Roth as an assistant before taking on a bigger role following college. Coach Erik primarily works with Team PAC's Hitters and Infielders. 

Alec Teska

Graduated from Cato-Meridian High School in 2017, played Varsity baseball freshman through senior year in high school and was Pitcher of the year for the league senior year. Attended and graduated from St. John Fisher University. Was apart of two conference championship teams and two NCAA regional teams. Named Third Team All-Region and Second-Team all ABCA. Also named First-Team All-Conference in 2022

Tanner Frank

Tanner is a graduate of Brighton High School in Rochester, NY. He played 3 years of varsity baseball for the Bruins. 

Tanner attended Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua, NY for 3 years as a pitcher on their baseball team. He is now transfering to St. John Fisher University where he will continue his academic as well as his athletic career. 

Tanner had been giving pitching lessons and now is coaching for Team PAC with position players but mainly pitchers
